The Johannesburg Paediatric Surgical Practice is comprised of three Specialist Paediatric Surgeons who are all affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand:
Prof Jerome Loveland
MBBCh(Wits), FCS(SA)(Wits), Cert Paed Surg(SA)(Wits)
Prof Loveland is currently Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand, Head of Paediatric Surgery at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, and is an integral part of the Liver and Renal Transplant program at the Wits Donald Gordon Transplant Centre.
His interests include Oncology, Neonatal Surgery, Hepato-biliary surgery, General Paediatric Surgery and Urology.
Dr Chris Westgarth-Taylor
BSc(UCT), BSc Med Hons(UCT), MBChB(US), MRCS(England) FC Paed Surg(SA)(UCT)
Dr Westgarth-Taylor has recently moved up to Johannesburg from Cape Town after training and working at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. He is part of the University team at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. His interests include General Paediatric Surgery, Neonatal Surgery, Ano-Rectal Surgery, Oncology Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery.
Dr Andrew Grieve
MBBCh(Wits), FC Paed Surg(SA)(Wits)
Dr Grieve is a part the University team at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital involved in clinical patient care, student teaching and research. He has completed a fellowship in London, United Kingdom in Paediatric Hepatobiliary surgery.
Dr Grieve’s interests include General Paediatric Surgery, Hepato-biliary surgery, Neonatal surgery and Oncologic Surgery.
